ABOUT SAHA - Coach at Ritz – Carlton Hotel

NIK

Saha is a highly motivated trainer who always brings his A-game. As a kid who was plump and physically inactive, he was a victim of bullying. This strengthened his resolve to shape up in all the elements of fitness. This remained an interest until National Service.

Due to the intensive training regimes he went through, the interest quickly blossomed into an intense passion. Immediately after his service in the army he went on to pursue the FISAF Personal Trainer/Fitness Leader certification in his quest of imparting training knowledge to people.

His unwavering commitment to the industry has led to him seeking out innovative and up-to-date training strategies to be implemented in his workouts, so that clients see results. Through various courses, he seeks to upgrade himself in the future.

    LIFT WEIGHT TO LOSE WEIGHT

A new study confirms what many discovered long ago - strength training plays an important role in ridding the body of extra weight.

Sure, aerobic exercise burns calories, but the body's metabolism quickly returns to pre-exercise levels, usually within 30 minutes or so.

Resistance training, according to the researchers at Johns Hopkins University, leads to increased calorie burning for up to two hours after the workout is over. Unfortunately, because weight training often results in a corresponding increase in weight due to increased muscle mass, many women abandon their strength-training efforts, opting instead for strictly cardiovascular activities. However, researchers suggest combining aerobic exercise with regular strength training for maximum benefit.
