PHYZIQUE Pte Ltd is a company set up in June 2008 by owner Abraham Nikhil (Nik). The company was set up after he left Fitness First with a dream to start his own company which specialized in providing personalised fitness services such as personal training and boot camps to his clients. The company quickly expanded its services since it has been around.

Here at PHYZIQUE, we believe in empowering people. We want to help you help yourself. We believe that fitness and health should be a lifestyle and not a chore. We come in to your life to best try and find ways for you to reach your fitness goals as smoothly as possible.

ABOUT Leonard

NIK

As a lifelong sports aficionado, Leonard has been a serious recreational athlete for as long as 20 years. He has been an active sportsman since his school days, representing his institutions competitively in swimming and track & field.

His true passion however, lies within endurance sports which began shortly after being enlisted in the SIngapore Armed Forces in 1998. This led him to commence on a journey which has seen him complete more than 30 marathons, ultramarathons and triathlons worldwide, including the North Face 100km and a number of full Ironman races. Fuelled by this, Leonard developed a continual desire for knowledge to improve endurance performance and a personal committment to help others achieve success in this supposedly time consuming sport.

A FISAF certified trainer, Leonard's expertise is in building effective weight management, strength development/conditioning and cardiovascular fitness solutions specific to individual fitness needs and lifestyles. He is a strong advocate of adaptive training and believes in tailoring programs backed by science whether you are an experienced athlete, a sports newbie or simply an office warrior looking to get fitter.

    LIFT WEIGHT TO LOSE WEIGHT

    A new study confirms what many discovered long ago - strength training plays an important role in ridding the body of extra weight.

    Sure, aerobic exercise burns calories, but the body's metabolism quickly returns to pre-exercise levels, usually within 30 minutes or so.

    Resistance training, according to the researchers at Johns Hopkins University, leads to increased calorie burning for up to two hours after the workout is over. Unfortunately, because weight training often results in a corresponding increase in weight due to increased muscle mass, many women abandon their strength-training efforts, opting instead for strictly cardiovascular activities.However, researchers suggest combining aerobic exercise with regular strength training for maximum benefit.
