PHYZIQUE Pte Ltd is a company set up in June 2008 by owner Abraham Nikhil (Nik). The company was set up after he left Fitness First with a dream to start his own company which specialized in providing personalised fitness services such as personal training and boot camps to his clients. The company quickly expanded its services since it has been around.

Here at PHYZIQUE, we believe in empowering people. We want to help you help yourself. We believe that fitness and health should be a lifestyle and not a chore. We come in to your life to best try and find ways for you to reach your fitness goals as smoothly as possible.

Growing up, I was an obese child often facing problems with weight management. During my teenage to young adult years, my weight rose tremendously as I spent most of my time wasted, sitting in front of my desktop playing computer games. I was not aware of nutrition nor healthy eating; my diet consists of mostly junk food. At that time, simple exercises were tedious for me.

I was in the Singapore Navy for five years. I struggled with IPPT. Pull ups were out of the question. Running the 2.4km was tough. I even flunked all remaining stations of the fitness test. This was a huge wake up call for me to start making the change.

I did as much research as I can, put myself through a proper nutrition diet together with exercise. My hard work paid off, I lost a total of 15kg, putting on muscle mass and saw a tremendous improvement in my endurance training. I was able to achieve my first IPPT Gold award in the Navy, which was my greatest achievement at the time. My passion for fitness begun as I realized I was an inspiration for my fellow mates who were facing similar issues as me. I started sharing my knowledge for fitness.

As a FISAF certified Personal Trainer, I believe my passion will motivate and assist you in your goals. I will do my utmost best to help you achieve a fitter, healthier, happier You.

LIFT WEIGHT TO LOSE WEIGHT

A new study confirms what many discovered long ago - strength training plays an important role in ridding the body of extra weight.

Sure, aerobic exercise burns calories, but the body's metabolism quickly returns to pre-exercise levels, usually within 30 minutes or so.

Resistance training, according to the researchers at Johns Hopkins University, leads to increased calorie burning for up to two hours after the workout is over. Unfortunately, because weight training often results in a corresponding increase in weight due to increased muscle mass, many women abandon their strength-training efforts, opting instead for strictly cardiovascular activities.However, researchers suggest combining aerobic exercise with regular strength training for maximum benefit.
